Andre,

Very interesting blog! I would like an opportunity to introduce myself and my organization. I am currently seeking to hire a team of senior Software Developers for an Agile XP environment. I would love to send you the particulars to see whom you may know.
Meanwhile, I can be reached at 703 245 5758.

I Agree. The problem with some methodologies (or with some coaches) is that a lot of people believe that a practice is good for you just because a guru said it was good. Agile or not agile, it is definitely *not* the right way to teach things.

You are absolutely right Aaron. The goal is to produce software successfully, and in an enjoyable fashion. It just so happens that most of the time, that _is_ doing things in an agile fashion. I'm not an agile fan because it's trendy (is it?), I prefer adaptable software development methods because they make me more productive and I have more fun.

Now push it a little farther. It's better to be a good coach than a good agile coach. The object is to find solutions to problems. If Agile offers a good solution, great. If some other approach is better-suited to the situation, then that solution should be pursued just as eagerly.

In most aspects and activities of my life, I am at unconsciously incompetent, but at least I'm conscious of that so maybe I'm moving into stage 2.
